The Level 1 ISAK Anthropometry Course is designed for Sport Science, Nutrition and Injury Practitioners who need to carry out anthropometric profiling of clients.
This course will run on the following dates: Tuesday 22nd August – Thursday 24th August 2017
Times: 9.00 – 17.00 (all three days)
Price: The full cost is £320
Content: Whilst enrolled upon the ISAK course you will learn both practical and theoretical aspects. Theoretical components of the course include topics such as anatomy, body composition and somatotype. Practical application includes the measurement of a restricted profile (height, mass, eight skinfolds, five girths, two breadths) adhering to the standard required by ISAK. You will study how measures enable the monitoring of health and growth variables and calculation of somatotype. The course is assessed via demonstration of accurate precision in the assessment of a restricted profile.
The demonstration will be assessed on intra-tester reliability (how repeatable your own measurements are) and inter-tester reliability (how accurate you are compared with criterion measures).
Submission of 20 profiles within a four month period
Candidates will require materials for taking notes and suitable clothing for taking upper and lower body skinfold measurements. Drinking water is available, however no food other than vending machines is available on site.
Award: Upon successful completion of the course you will receive the Level 1 ISAK Anthropometry Course accreditation (valid for 4 years) and ISAK membership.
