Detailed Description
Course Information
The UKSCA Strength & Conditioning Trainer is the introductory programme on the UKSCA’s recognised qualification framework and is recognised by CIMSPA. This Level 3 award is a standalone, professionally recognised qualification that aims to introduce the safe and effective planning of strength and conditioning-based training for individuals of all populations. This extended programme, delivered to align with your academic programme, offers you the chance to learn alongside others, whilst applying your knowledge to a real-world setting: the InSPIRe Athlete Development programme. This programme will involve girls and boys from various sports attending YSJU to develop holistic athletic attributes, under your supervision.
With this qualification, you will:
Learn to plan, prepare and deliver S&C training through guided learning and hands-on practice
Learn from a UKSCA-accredited professional, the world-recognised standard
Receive high-quality training and face-to-face delivery to ensure you gain the practical skills necessary
Gain access to the online suite of resources for this qualification and all premium content of presentations, webinars and articles
Important Information
To complete the qualification, you are required to plan, deliver and execute an extended training programme with a group/individual for a minimum period of 8-12 weeks. Therefore, to facilitate this, it is offered to all applicants of this programme that they can support the InSPIRe Athlete Development (for children aged 9-16) programme based at YSJU Haxby Road on Monday evenings, in the capacity of a coach. If you have an alternative setting with which you work with athletes in this capacity, that is also fine.
If, for any reason, you are unable to do this, please discuss this with Dr Jamie Salter (j.salter@yorksj.ac.uk) before registering for the qualification.
